Minutes of the July meetimng of the West Dereham Parish Council

Minutes of the meeting of the West Dereham Parish Council held on Thursday 13th July in The Village Hall at 8.00 p.m.

1. Present: Miss Richardson - Chairperson, M. Grief, Mrs. Berry, Mrs. Cann together with 7 members of the public.

2. Apologies: Mrs. Fisher, R. Drew and Mrs. Moir - Borough Councillor.

3. Minutes: Mrs. Cairn proposed and Mrs. Berry seconded that the minutes of the meeting held on 8th June 2006 be signed as a correct record.

4. Matters Arising: The DEFRA information is still awaited - Miss Richardson agreed to chase this up. An Allotment gate has been repaired but there is still another to be repaired - M. Grief volunteered to deal with this matter. The corner in Ryston Road opposite Willow Farm has been resurfaced and eventually it is to be kerbed. Various pot holes in the Village have been marked with white paint but the work is still awaited.

5. Planning Decision: Millennium Project - Change of use to residential dwelling-approved.

6. Payments: N.C.A. of P and T. Councils -£101. 75 - proposed C. Cann and seconded M. Grief pass for payment.

7. Correspondence: Norfolk Link : N.C.C. Living Longer, Living Well : Norfolk Police - dates of Mobile Station; Christopher Fraser M.P. - Broadband Access in West Dereham: all noted. W.N.B.C. Planning Protocol - clerk to contact the Authority via telephone.

8. Action: None

9. Any Other Business: Lynn News Village Correspondent - any information should be communicated to Ms C. Vincent. Mrs. Cairn confirmed that she feels the Village do not think the Parish Council take the problem of Station Road seriously enough. It is suggested that a complete resume be put together on what has been done and what the Parish Council are legally permitted to do with regard to Station Road and then be delivered to every house in the Village with the Church news letter. Owners of the Fast Track vehicles which use Station Road are to be found if possible and then asked to persuade their drivers to travel along Station Road with due consideration to residents and other road users. A member of the public complained about Glazewing vehicles using Station Road and again The Transport Manager asked that complaints be telephoned to him at the time of the problem.

The meeting closed at 8.40 p.m.
