Minutes of Wereham Parish Council

Minutes of the meeting of the Wereham Parish Council held

on Tuesday 8th March 2005 in The Village Hall at 7.30 p.m.

1. Present: G. Gott - Vice-chairman, P. Markwell, Mrs. Willis, G. Clere, D. Pickston, C. Humphries and a member of the public.

2. Apologies: R. Lankfer

3. Minutes: It was agreed that the minutes of the meeting held on 11th January 2005 be signed as a correct record.

4. Matters Arising: The tarmac area between Mill Hill Garage and Laurel Farm, Stoke Road still needs attention as does the footpath outside The Forge, Church Road. The house outside light in Stoke Road is still causing motorists problems because of it's angle. There is still a wheel and a tyre in the verge on the west side of the road two thirds of the way between Cavenham Road and the 'T' junction.

5. Planning: Mr. & Mrs. Thun-Rasmussen - const. Of Store - Old School, School Lane Mr & Mrs. J. Simms ext. to dwelling - 5 The Row, Wereham Mr. M. Bunting conver. Of barn to self contained annexe Row Farm, The Row -~ recommend all three for approval.

6. Payments: E.A. Air Ambulance £20.00: Audit Commission £141.00 : Pearce & Kemp £195M7 : Norfolk Playing Field Assoc. £15.00 - proposed Mrs. Willis and seconded by G. Clere pass for payment.

7. Correspondence: W.N.B.C. Community involvement in Review of Local Plan. N.C.C. Traffic Manager - Sam Ralph is to take the post. Audit Commission - all in order. Signpost and Norfolk Link both noted. Sports, Recreation and Open Spaces letter to be sent to correct list. Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Clerk is the first contact and Chairman is the second. W.N.B.C. Small Business Rate Relief has been granted. Methwold School letter confirming their aims and ambitions. Boiler Juice - noted. Health and Safety Executive - ask for clarification of their letter. Chariton View houses have spiked railings and plans show that they are as per the plans.

8. Any Other Business: Ducks - following a discussion it was agreed that after numerous attempts to reduce the number of Drakes and failed the Councillors are now open to suggestions from any Parishioner. G. Gott agreed to 'fence' around the hole which has appeared at the edge of the Pond. Pot holes in Back Lane - clerk to contact the County Council. Garden rubbish is being tipped on the verge in Flegg Green between Lammas Meadow Lane and the Sewer Plant. Cavenham Road is very muddy and has lots of loose stones also the surface is cracking between April Cottage and Windy Willows so is School Lane surface cracking. The grips in Cavenham road are very deep and it is hoped that they can be filled with free draining stones. The Bollard at the junction of Flegg Green and the A 134 has been displaced and needs to be replaced. Some rubbish appears to have been dropped off skip lorries. Stones and muck is coming onto the road from the entrance to Frimstone's pit. There is a request for passing bays in The Row. There is a lot of litter on the verges along the B1160. The clerk was instructed to contact the relevant Authorities with the various problems.

The meeting closed at 8.45p.m.
